“Direct Primary Care” means the doctor works directly for the patient.

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a model of health care gaining popularity around the country and Beyond Primary Care is the first and highest rated DPC clinic in Ann Arbor.

Direct Primary Care isn’t insurance. Instead, it’s a unique high value membership that can be used as standalone healthcare for uninsured or used to supplement high-deductible health plans and catastrophic plans. At its basic level, DPC means the doctor works directly for the patient. No private insurance, no medicaid, no medicare, no middlemen. Since we are insurance free, DPC clinics contract with families and employers through a membership.

Think Netflix… but for Medicine.

In return for a flat monthly membership starting at $30 per month per member at Beyond Primary Care, families are provided with an incredible level of personal care including virtually unlimited office visits, in-clinic dispensing of wholesale medications, and wholesale blood work done at the time of appointment when necessary.

There are no additional copays, deductibles, or surprise hidden charges for visits.
With a smaller patient base, Beyond Primary Care routinely offers our patients same day access, minimal waits, and longer appointments for your annual check-up or urgent care needs. When medically appropriate, many issues can be managed over the phone or via messaging, without an office visit – saving time and money. Phone calls are forwarded directly to your own physician after hours.

While this is a big change for many patients, it has many advantages and allows for innovative features. The physician at Beyond Primary Care will provide the patient with primary medical care without insurance or government involvement. Medicare and Medicaid patients are welcome, but remember that we don’t bill them or insurers for your health care.

Direct Primary Care is NOT insurance and patients are strongly encouraged to have wrap-around coverage for emergencies and large medical expenses. Many patients and employers find health sharing plans or a lower cost, higher deductible insurance plan works well with direct primary care and saves more than the price of a direct primary care membership.

Referrals, outside testing and prescriptions are generally covered by most insurances, Medicare, and Medicaid- but confirm this with your insurer.  Many patients are pleasantly surprised to find we can usually find these at cash prices far below the “discounted” insurance price.
